Samsung Galaxy Rugby Pro has a rugged outside look beautifully balanced by the brilliancy of its display and the versatility of its features. Once you have purchased it, you certainly think about personalization: recovery tools, custom ROMs, countless apps and tweaks. It is thus why we wrote this tutorial: to provide you with the first step – rooting.
But before that, take a look at the following pieces of advice:
This tutorial is for Samsung Galaxy Rugby Pro (SGH – IS47) only;
Act safe and back-up data. The rooting procedure doesn’t delete any data, but do a back-up just in case something goes wrong;
Charge the battery to a required level of over 80%;
Download and install the latest USB drivers for the device in use;
Rooting voids the warranty of the smart phone;
With these being said, it is time to flash and root Samsung Galaxy Rugby Pro:
1. Download CWM Recovery tool ( comanche_cwr_6015_utkanos.tar.md5 – 6.9MB );
2. Download Root Package ( cwmr_root.zip – 661KB );
3. Download Odin 3.07;
4. Extract the Odin archive ( Odin_v3.07.zip ) on your PC;
5. Connect your Samsung Galaxy Rugby Pro to computer via USB cable;
6. Transfer ‘cwmr_root.zip‘ to the root folder on the SD card;
7. Run ODIN, click on PDA button and select ‘comanche_cwr_6015_utkanos.tar.md5‘;
8. Check the ‘F. Reset Time’ box in Odin; uncheck ‘Repartition’ and ‘Auto Reboot’;
9. Power off the device and boot into Download Mode - press Volume Down + Home + Power simultaneously, whereupon ‘Volume Up’ to continue;
10. Reconnect the smart phone to the PC via USB and click on ‘START’ in Odin. Wait for the flashing of the smart phone and do not reboot if prompted to do so;
11. Remove the battery and put it back into the device;
12. Press and hold Volume Up + Home + Power in the same time in order to boot in Recovery mode;
13. From within Recovery mode select ‘install zip from SD card’, then ‘choose zip from SD card’;
14. Select ‘cwmr_root.zip‘ file and go ahead;
15. You have just rooted Samsung Galaxy Rugby Pro!
