Jed Eckhert (Hemsworth) is home on leave in Spokane, Washington. He
reunites with his father, Spokane Police Sergeant Tom Eckhert (Cullen)
and his brother, football player Matt Eckhert (Peck). After a mysterious
power outage, Jed and Matt are shocked to find North Korean
paratroopers are invading. Matt witnesses an F-16 take out a Korean
transport aircraft as he leaves with Jed in a pick-up truck. Their
father tells them to flee to their cabin in the woods while he helps the
townspeople. Jed and Matt and some other teenagers, including Robert
Morris (Hutcherson), Daryl Jenkins (Cruise) and Pete (Lenz), go to the
Eckhert’s cabin.
